You and I
I am you, and you am I
My body your mirror, you hold your hand out to meet mine and they mesh together
Your lips are like my candle wax, hot at first but then they stick
Can’t you see we are joint at the hip?
Our cells are simpatico, they do not swallow one another but they fuse together
We are not just meant to be. But we are each other
I am you, and you am I
Same number of chromosomes we now share
A heart we now share Our lungs, a liver, and our appendix. We share them all
But we don’t just share them now
We have ALWAYS shared them
Just like I said
I am you, and you am I
You hate me only because you hate yourself
You kill me, because you’ve already killed yourself
I am your mirror, they are your mirror, WE are your mirror
But No matter how far you run we will always run faster
for we are not just a reflection of insecurity but a collection of your shadows
