You and I are more then meets the eye

You and I are more then meets the eye.

We met multiple time, at a young fragile age.

As an adalesent, I held you in my hand.

My mom said learn to embrace you because I will need you in school.

The pen that marks my paper, who new you were more then meets the eye.

The one who helped descover I.

I only imagined doodles and scribbles,

but as time grew with us, that same pen formed a friendship, a bond, A form of expression.

An invasive formality, a melody of my own voice.

My scorching thoughts that hide beneath my mind, ready to be let out and heard.

Anger, happiness, sadness and gratefulness.

I could now have a companion in my most confidential moments.

You have seen me cry as tears splatter across my paper,

trying to understand a deeper meaning to life.

You have also helped me plan my future and achievements and capture life's greatest moments.

For you and I are more then meets the eye.

You helped me discover the language of this world and translation of my heart.

Decode music's secret passages and  the puzzles of words as art.

if you had a name, what would it be?

It only makes sense your name is poetry.

I owe you me life for you helping me discover me,

and for that, you and I are more then meets the eye.
