You Are
You stand in the back light, afraid, and a coward;
paralyzed by your scars in this crucial hour.
They have mocked you and said you will never win
They spat and they kicked you with a malevolent grin.
You are Worthless. Your Garbage. You are nothing but dust.
They stare at you with utter disgusts.
Streets are deserted, clouds heavy and black;
Souls are so burdened, no one wills to fight back.
As the clock of history ticks every moment
no one’s willing to act; heroes sleeping and dormant.
But you know that the cost of this battle is great
If no one stands now, it’ll be too late.
You rise from the ashes, heart tumbling with terror
sweat fills your palms; you’re the Cause Bearer.
They filled you with lies for far too long
Its time to awake. Time to be strong.
The world is in shock; one rises at last!
Who is this willing to fight for outcasts?
You push and persist, the fight; monumental.
But as you are at war, the outcasts assemble!
The masses rise up; set free, broken shackles.
They pick up a sword and join you in battle.
They give it their all, every inch, every fiber
More join in the war; you’re the Torch Lighter.
It takes so much time, blood, sweat, and tears
But you keep on marching, shedding your fears.
“We shall Overcome”, they gather and sing.
They ask for your name. You humbly say, “King”.
It took only one against the nefarious,
One to stand up, and now they’re Victorious.
So no matter how bruised or battered your feeling
Never sell yourself short! You can if you’re Willing!
