You are forced to remember but I've learned how to heal.
You are forced to remember but I've learned how to heal.
The pain you once felt and thought you forgot is standing at the surgeon table with a butcher's knife ready not to perform but to stab you directly in the heart. I remember who holds that knife, not pain, no, not pain but the very one you call friend. I remember pain is angry and evil he screams words of hate, destruction and death and once again has broken down your house of sticks and stones with a wrecking ball called words.
I remember.
The dagger of things said and not said has been logged in your self-image.
I remember.
The sledgehammer of family has dented your safe house door. I know you love me but I am not always sure.
I remember.
Everything that could possibly go left has gone left and around the corner. No car, no house, no $$, no Teenage Dream, no normal childhood, but yet again it never was, I serve the king, no explanation for the face you wear day today because the story is too hard to tell. I remember. No none of those things but yes to the Lord. Yes to stay strong yes God does have it. With Christ I've healed and I do remember.
