I wish to tell you that you are not alone,

But I know that you will not believe me.

I have heard the same words, over and over:

You are not alone. You are not alone.

But I all I have ever felt is alone...

Nevertheless, I must remind myself:

I am not alone. I am not alone.

There are others.

There are others that feel the same ache in their chest,

Feel the same pangs of hunger for friendship,

For a connection, for some light to flood my chest with life.

I want my heart to become a steady-beating drum,

A simple beat that I can march along to.

I think I can hear it now...

You are not alone.

I promise you, I would not tell you a lie.

I will not twist my words and tell you I am fine.

But there is somebody out there, somewhere that will care.

They may not be here to hold you in their arms

When the darkness returns.

But let it be known that life is precious.

There will be pain.

There will always be pain.

Get up,

And learn to let in the light.

Taste the sweetness of the breeze as it filters through the trees.

Take in a deep breath,
