You Are Not What You See
Looking in the mirror I see,
I see a girl who takes pills,
who has scars up and down her arms,
who has permenant tear streaks on her pale face.
Looking at me you see,
you see a girl who is afraid of her own voice,
who believes that she is worthless,
who is too tired to fight back anymore.
Looking at you I see,
I see people who are happy,
who seem to float through life without care,
who hide their issues better than me.
Looking at the broken mirror I realize,
I am more than my flaws,
I am stronger than my past,
I am better than my fears.
Look at me now.
Head up, eyes forward, short sleeves on.
I do not feel the need to hide.
I have struggled, I have cried.
I admit, I have my flaws.
But they are what make me.
They make me,
Flawless.
