You Are Poetry

Tumble out of bed

Cowlicks curl out of place

Bare feet pad delicately on the cold wooden floor

Shivers rack your body

Rush out the door

Hair wiping every which way

Don't miss the bus!

Fiddle around in school

trying to keep your grades par

socialize with friends

make jokes with them

your laughter rings out like a choir of bells

an unceremonious snort

your back home

all the works accomplished

Expertly navigate the web

clamor into bed before slumber takes you

Awaken. Your next poem is about to start

You write with the movements of your body

The actions of each day

From one moment to the next

You are poetry.
