You are the Reason
Numb. Blank thoughts.
Unable to move, I feel paralyzed
New scars adorn my body, and with them new memories.
I want this to go away.
All I see is blackness, with no light at the end.
There is no way out, or so it seems.
Food has no appeal, and sleep is a nonexistant thought.
There is a hole in my chest where my heart used to beat.
Now there is nothing, only silence.
Mistakes are a part of life,
but what if life is only made of mistakes?
This bottomless pit slowly consumes me.
Maybe I'll hit the bottom if I stop breathing,
it sees like such a good idea sometimes.
No more pain, no more thoughts,
Just quiet sleep that lasts forever.
And when I think it's my only option,
your face appears behind my eyes.
The reason I am feeling like this,
yet the reason I am still hanging on.
Breath escapes my mouth,
for at least one more day.
