You are a reminder

You are a reminder.

A reminder to be cautious in who I invest my time in.

You are a reminder to me to see people for who they truly are, and not for who or what they pretend to be.

A reminder to associate only with those who will treats me fairly & with kindness.

A reminderthat I don't need to listen to your negative words, criticisms, & assumptions.

You are my reminder that I don't have to be around negative people who need to find fault, devalue, be little, or disrespect me.

You are a reminder of these & many other things.

You are a reminder of how selfish & narcissistic people can be.

You are a reminder of these scars & bruises that lay upon my porcelain flesh.

A reminder if the cry & screams I let out when you indugled me like a piece of meat.

You are a reminder of someone I onced loved.

Someone I once spoke so highly of, terrified if I let out one peep of  your childish behavior, you would stab me with your degrading words behind closed doors.

You are a reminder of hw strong I am.

A simple life lesson, I will always remember for the memories are burned into my soul & skin.

You are just a reminder.
