You Are Still Here Math

Dear Math,

I don’t like you

I don’t hate you because I seem to need you

Even though you curse me out

And I could never understand your ways

You teach me a lesson, and then I forget about once it comes to test

You stand there, arms folded, grinning maliciously

You watch my heartache

I don’t even bother to solve all the problems you give me

And I rather cheat on you, than be with you any longer

But I can’t

You are still here

You are stupid and unwanted

But after a while the way you treat me makes me feel stupid and unwanted

Math, you are despicable

I thought you were only needed to a certain extent

However, we meet days beyond recall again

Year after year, you end up in my hands

I stare at you, and I want to cry

You are not precious nor innocent like a child

You are a growing problem

That is drenched in my imaginable tears

But I never really cry

because I know

You are still here

You open your arms to a particular group

And I was never a member

You are fire still standing in the rain

Why do I need you right now?

You cause me so much pain

I’m getting older

Every answer, I can search elsewhere

However, you are waiting for me

On my college's footsteps

Tougher and crueler than ever

Still glaring in disappoint

I guess I need you

Although, I still will never get you

And I will never like you

But I know you’ll be with me forever

That’s why you are still here
