FOR YOU TO BE

my past back then,

has made me to be

the man I have grown into you see,

for it was in those times of yore

and the times before,

the future of one

back then in the past;

seemed so distant!

for somehow it was a feeling,

of not being able to reach out

and touch the space;

of an uncertain reality,

and the reservations

of what the forthcoming held,

but of those lessons taught;

I would not be here today,

for if I had not learnt

that today, will be yesterday, tomorrow,

and for that

we cannot take back,

of what had happened once before,

so be thankful then

for all of life's little mercies

and miracles too,

in what we have right now

and not seek consolation

for the times that happened

in your yesteryear,

for you to come from then;

you are the person

that you are today......
