You Can Put Cheese On Any Type Of Potato
We live in a world where you can put cheese on any type of potato
And no matter what, it will always taste good
We live in a world where you can eat cheese flavoured ice cream
I’m not sure how that will taste, but hey, it’s food!
We live in a world where absolute poverty is down worldwide
Everyone is living richer, and therefore healthier, lives
We live in a world where polio and smallpox no longer exist
Everyone is living healthier, and therefore richer, lives
We live in a world where the stars have names and stories to be heard
I read all their stories, I watch them every night
We live in a world where children tell stories, the few that they’ve heard
You tell them these stories, before you kiss them goodnight
We live in a world where I, a woman, have access to education, property, and freedom
That women in ages past did not have access to
We live in a world where you, a man, have freedoms of expression, sexuality, and emotion
That men in ages past felt ashamed for letting through
We live in a world where flowers of every shape and color bloom
I turn them into crowns, and place them in hair
We live in a world where floral dresses of every shape and colour are worn
You flaunt yours as it melts into your skin, lovely and bare
We live in a world where less children worldwide feel hunger
With food in their stomachs, they can play and wander
We live in a world where more children worldwide will learn
With books in their hands, they can read and wonder
We live in a world where the miracle of the internet exists
Where I may talk to you, from 700 miles away
We live in a world where the miracle of flying in planes exists
Now I may see you, despite living 700 miles away
We live in a world where I can feel scared and alone
But I just think as I pet my cat
“You can put cheese on any type of potato”
How wonderful and delicious is that?
