You can't call yourself

That little kid out there alone,

that little kid out there afraid,

that kid is your own,

and you were supposed to keep her safe,

you only taught her one thing,

to never be a monster,

that violence isn't okay,

and when you have a responbility never walk away,

she wants to be different,

she doesn't want to be like you,

got her whole future ahead of her,

and she's afraid

Afraid of being you,

you got mad,

because she didn't want to call you DAD,

you yellede and got sad,

You can't call yourself a real dad,

unless you go to her doctor and dentist appointments,

unless you go to her dance recitals or school plays,

unless you stay up the night bringing her ice cream,

You can't call yourself a real dad,

unless you stay with her when she has her first heart break,

and chase all the no good for nothing scumbags away,

unless you let her know that she doesn't need to be afraid.

Iḿ M, I like reading, writing, cooking, acting, and helping others. Good luck to other poets out there, and never give up on your dreams. No matter how hard it seems.
