You Can't Define Me
You're opinion of me does not define who I am.
Whether you are in love with me or you wish I'd leave, does not define me.
Whether you laugh at my jokes or laugh at my dreams, does not define me.
You can not define me.
You can not define who I am with harsh words or expressions.
I am symphonies of late night conversations, I am characters in the books I love,
I am the sound of heartbreak, I am words that had to be said,
I am cups off coffee at 1 a.m. trying to escape the night, I am the flowers that bloom in the snow,
I am lyrics from songs that make you wonder, I am the light pink in the sunset,
I am a crack in the sidewalk, I am memories and expectations,
I am broken but I am unafriad,
I am bits and pieces of all the things you'll never know,
and that is why you can't define me.
