You can't live without home

I walked alone into the dark black night

With only the wind to keep me moving.

The moon a silver eye to view my path,

A path my heart had always known.

My heart beating in time with my shoes,

As I picked up pace in fear of the shadows

Though they only exist in my mind.

Nights loneliness rings heavy in my heart,

Yet my fear keeps my sympathy at bay.

I can see it now, the light is shinning,

A beacon for a wary soul like mine.

Under the street light I cross the road

To be beneath the porch light of my home.
