you can't make me

you ripped me off like a bandage

and tossed me out like trash

you abandoned me

to be picked up by the trash truck

or that's what you expected to happen.

what you don't know

is that things

don't always go as expected.

i rose up like a tree,

standing strong and tall,

and i made it very clear

that you can't make me fall.

the only person who can make me fall

is me.

so i learn to not give myself to someone who treats me

like a dirty bandage

and to find someone

who sees me as something they are lucky to have.

i am not dispensable.

i am irreplaceable.
