You Don't Get It

Because I love you, I'll do your homework for you.

I'll stay up late and make sure there aren't noises creeping out of the cracks in your house.

Because I know- you're scared of monsters.

Because I love you, you should stop texting that guy you used to talk to.

I stay up late for you. I make sure noises don't creep out of the cracks of your house for you.

Because I know- you're scared of monsters.

Because I love you, you have to stand on an unrequested pedestal.

I'll secretly compare you to every girl in every romantic comedy I've ever seen.

Because I know- you’re not quite like what I want.

Because I love you, you have to jump through my emotional insecurities.

I'll hold my hand in the sky and expect you to beg the question, "how high?"

Because I love you, I'll post couple goals on Twitter.

I'll make all your friends envious.

Because I love you, you should hang with me Saturday night- not them.

No?

What do you mean, "no"?

Don't you get it- I love you.

The monsters that your afraid of- I can become.

Don't you get it- I love you. Why don't you love

me?

Don't you love me?

What happened to me staying up late for you,

posting on Twitter for you,

fighting the monsters for you?

Don't you get it-  I love you?
