you dont know me
You don't know me
Other than what you see
Some see a hippie
Some see a Jesus freak
Some would say I am mellow
Some say I dress like a fellow
But as you go home and close your eyes
I go home and cry
I don't bother to try
To have people see the real me
Because it ain't easy
And this probably sounds cheesy
But I don't know how
To express my thoughts in sound
It doesn't come to me
As easy as it seems
This right now
I got this down
I go around trying to blend in
That's got to end
This is here and now
I don't gotta bow
To society
They just preppy
This is about me
Being me
Showing me
Doing me
I may be a hippie
Or a Jesus freak
I may dress like a guy
Or even be mellow
But that's what you see
But what you don't see
Is I have ADHD
When I was three
My dad sexually harassed me
But then you don't know me
When I was three i got adopted
They didn't know me yet they chose me
Before I was born my mom did drugs
Yet all she wanted was for someone to give her a hug
Today I pray
And I will say
That me being me
Is all I need
I don't need your pity
For I live in a city
On the same earth
Where Mary gave birth
To a young prince
And to him I can sing
Because he don't judge
Me being me
