You Don't Need That.

“Why is he talking to me?” was my first thought.

“Why isn’t he talking to me?” is what I’m thinking now.

But it’s probably better this way that you stay away; “You destroy everything you touch” is what my mother says.

I don’t want destroy you; I don’t want to hurt you. I don’t want to be the reason behind the tears when you discover the monster behind this pretty smile.

I can’t help but want you although I have pushed you away, I can’t help but long for your embrace as you say “Everything is going to be alright.”

I can’t help but want to see your face light up and have the satisfaction of knowing that I was source.

But I’m toxic. I’m darkness. I’m death.

And you don’t need that.
