You Gave Me Purpose

You are my breath,

Sighs of grief, Laughter, Birth

You are my sword,

Safety, comfort, Identity

Through pain you taught me beauty,

And through loss you taught me love;

You gave me purpose

And brought me to life

You taught me how to dance and how to sleep.

You have taught me how to live,

Hope, Kindness, and Joy

Oboe
