You, The Glow
Every moment I share with you is something out of the dreams I never want to wake up from. My daydreams are in a filter that casts a golden glow on everything. Every time your hand makes contact with mine, a ray of sun is released from the sky. I used to despise the sun and its painful brightness, but now all I want to do is bathe in its light. You have the capability to make me fall in love with things I wouldn’t otherwise notice. You have a way of bringing out the beauty in things that people so often disregard. You have a roaring, fearless beauty yet at the same time a quiet, gentle beauty; I fall in love with both versions every day. I love every version of you that I’ve seen. And God, how I’d love to see more. How you describe things as if every one of your thoughts is a poem that deserves to be written down. I want to write songs, write albums about the gorgeous moments that we’ve shared. Every smile I’ve accidentally seen; the hidden ones, the elaborate ones, the sure-of-yourself ones, and the not-so-sure-of-yourself ones. The ones reserved only for special moments that exist when we lock eyes. The one you try to hide when you hold my face in your hands. That alive energy that I feel whenever I’m around you; you make me want to take a deep breath of life. To inhale and exhale as if it were a drug I’m addicted to. When you look me in the eyes, when I’m too awkward to do the same, those moments are the ones that cause me to have my own hidden smiles when I shouldn’t be having them. Why I want to tell every single person who would listen about you, about the time we spend together. You’re a daydream who could turn my worst nightmares into something profoundly beautiful. You are the sun the creates a euphoric golden glow on everything in your path. Your light is not the one that blinds me, but rather the one that I would stay up on the roof just to see until it quietly leaves. Every time you hug me, it’s as if I’m in a field with soft green grass surrounded by trees. Like flowers grow every time you hold me, like the sun only exists in its gentlest form. Like I’m dancing in a rain full of emotion, like I don’t have to fear the consequence. You are my favorite kind of nature, Landon. You are my Autumn sun that releases a beautiful glow on things that deserve to be highlighted. You create a cascading waterfall of the things I always keep in my head. You are my summer sky, my spring flowers, my autumn sun, my winter moon. You are every small detail that I fall in love with so easily.
