You Got What I Need

Alone on an island of my own design

Isolation and desperation seem just fine.

I hear a voice call out and look up from these broken rocks

Over these empty shores I see a smile that makes my heart stop.

Suddenly I'm not as alone as I thought

You're what I need, you're all I've got.

Spending time disrupting the silence

Our laughs echo and we feel like giants.

Near the fireside, on the sand we lie

You stare up at the stars, I see them in your eye.

You make me laugh, you hold me when I cry

You expand my horizons, you make my doubts die

Down on the ground, where I feel so alone

You take me by the hand, in the clouds you roam.
