But For You, I Would Write

I have never written a poem.

But for you, I would write a symphony,

because you make my heart sing.

But for you, I would write a mystery,

because you confuse me, yet I always figure you out.

But for you, I would write a comedy,

because you make me laugh, even if I don't want to,

But for you, I would write an adventure,

because you are home and an excursion wrapped up into one.

But for you, I would write a thriller,

because you never fail to sweep me off of my feet.

But for you, I would write this poem,

because it is the least I can do for you.
