You Just Know

Our eyes are waiting to adjust With only the glow of a half moon Dancing over waves We couldn’t see crashing. No gulls were calling. No children screaming. No one asking us to leave the tower we sat on our feet swaying over the edge. There was no need to laugh or run splashing into the ocean. The need was in our shoulders barely brushing and your hand sliding around my waist.

CaitlynBergman

Hi, I'm Caitlyn. I'm twenty years old and I was born and raised in Orange, California. Right now, I live in Austin, Texas (if you've never been, COME! It's a must-see) and going to school at Concordia University Texas studying English. I've always had a fascination with words. One of my professors (I owe him so much) encouraged me to start my own poetry, and I guess you'd say the rest is history! I prefer writing free verse and draw from my own life experiences and observations. To me, poetry is my way of trying to figure out what the universe is saying to me and capturing it using the most precise words possible.
