You Know Me
You know that I wake up early every morning to enjoy my cup of coffee
In my favorite mug, the Donald Duck one.
You know that I like to drive kinda fast
I’m not in a hurry, I just think it’s fun.
You know that I like sciences and conspiracy theories
Especially ones that are crazy or incomprehensible.
You know that I often have wild ideas
And most of the time you help me stay sensible.
You know how much I love the rain
The sound, the smell, and everything.
You know how grateful I am to have you
And the joys and laughter that you bring.
You know my indie sense of style
Including my favorite music to listen to.
You know sometimes I’m hard to deal with
But we always make it through.
You know how to make me laugh
And you’re really good at making me smile.
You know that I love to spend time with you
To watch a movie or just to sit and talk for a while.
You know that when I’m sad or worried
All I need is a little comfort.
You know that only you can help
But sometimes you make it clear I’m not worth the effort.
You know that I’m sensitive and little things hurt me
Which just makes it easier to subtly strike.
You know that I make a lot of mistakes
So you often point out everything you dislike.
You know that I’m childish and pout over nonsense
And even when I apologise, you bring it up constantly.
You know that I can’t stand being ignored
So when I try to come back to you, you treat me frostily.
You know that when we fight I’ll always come back to you
So you don’t hold anything back.
You know that when I’m upset with you
There’s always a way to turn it into an attack.
You know that I depend on you
So I’m easy to manipulate.
You know how to keep me reeled in
Keep me thinking I’m your soulmate.
I know that you’re in my life for a reason, although right now it is unclear
And this twisted web you’ve wrapped around me
I know I have to undo.
I know it will hurt to leave, all the good and happy times
But I made a promise to myself
I know I have to pursue.
It breaks my heart to have to go, because it’s you I’ll truly miss
But I told myself I’d make me better
I told myself, I love you.
