You Know What I Did

I’m sorry for the numerous times that I lied I know this killed you, those tears you cried Hoping I would come home at night I knew you were staying up, feeling everything but alright You know what I did I wish I cared I’m sorry for the pain I made you feel because all I did was say it wasn’t real I know you called my phone all those times I turned it off, pretending I wasn’t there You know what I did I wish I cared I’m sorry for running out and not staying home I thought I needed to prove that I was grown I knew it was killing you inside Your little girl is falling apart and you don’t know why You know what I did Only now I care Regret, something I do face My secrets kept in the anguish of disgrace No one hears me when I complain Because they know what I did as yesterday remains
