You Know When...

You know when you get those butterflies And they wake you up every morning, to help you realize That there is someone who longs to stare into your eyes Yea, the feeling comes out of nowhere, and hits you like a surprise It’s that feeling other people despise But you don’t really care, because you enjoy the prize But then that prize dies And becomes a web of lies You know when everyone around you sees that you’re crushed But when it comes to help, they never rush And you wear a hard exterior, while your heart is tender to the touch And all you can do, is use your laughter as a crutch So people think, you’re not hurting that much You know when you hit that point, when you’re questioning everything around you Things like, if God is real, or if the sky is really blue Or if the sympathetic woes are spoken true And you’re left with nothing else to do But try to rebuild yourself and get the clue That this, is something you can get through And when you get that clue, you know what to pursue You know when you decide to take your first step to bliss By accepting what has happened, and not giving a shit Because you give yourself the chance for an opportunity, NOT to be missed Like meeting someone new, or being swept off your feet by a kiss You know when you start to feel like yourself again And there is no such thing as losing, cause all you do is win And your confidence in yourself will not bend Regardless of what distractions the Devil puts you in Even though these obstacles try to wear you thin You have no worries, because every obstacle has an end You know when you get that feeling, when your smile is finally real Happiness, Joy, Strength, and Pride are a new emotions that you feel And when times get rough, you are completely chill Because you’ve been through worse shit, so you know you can deal Because you eat challenge for a meal And with this resilient lifestyle, no one can steal That undying passion of happiness and zeal You know when your heart is healed, open, and ready And your life is balanced and finally steady From someone to come in with a teddy…bear hug And to sweep your feet, off the rug And give your heart strings a little tug While they hold you at night, close and snug And you can’t help but admit, you have been bit the love bug Well, if you know what I am talking about Then you know without a doubt That the true you is finally coming out And you are not afraid to scream and shout That you’re ready to let someone in, and share with them what your all about - Chase Torrence
