YOU LEFT WHEN NEEDED MOST
I called your name when the night grew cold,
When my spirit was shaking, my strength grew old.
You said, “I’m here, forever — no matter the storm.”
But forever turned fragile, and promises deformed.
You left when the world fell apart in my hands,
When silence was louder than I could stand.
I looked for your shadow — it wasn’t there,
Only echoes of laughter that vanished in air.
You were my anchor, my safe, my friend,
But you drifted away when I reached the end.
And I wondered if I mattered, if you ever truly cared,
For when I needed love the most — you weren’t there.
I broke, but in breaking, I learned how to rise,
Found courage in pain, found truth in lies.
Your leaving cut deep, but it carved me strong,
Now I dance to the beat of my own heart’s song.
You taught me absence is its own kind of fire,
That strength is born from unmet desire.
So though your back was the last thing I saw,
I thank you — because I survived it all.
