You Looked Truth In The Eye

You looked Truth in the eye,

Then you chose to lie.

Suddenly you were blind.

The world's wrong and its not your fault,

You say.

Hate is something you lack,

You say.

You give to charity,

But only a charity of self servitude.

Your ignorance leads only to your own bliss.

You chose to cut your ears off,

So that you may standby safely,

When other people get shot between theirs,

Knowing that it couldn't be your fault.

Oh what a tragedy,

Surely they could've prevented this.

You looked Truth in the eye,

And you tried to wrap your mind around it,

Like a constrictor wraps around its prey,

Squeezing the life from its dying eyes.

You twist and turn and pervert,

Taking the shape of Satan in Gods Garden,

But you fail to see the resemblance.

You turned your attention,

Towards and excuse instead.

The Truth looked you in the eye,

And it deemed you unworthy.
