you loved me for the

you loved me for the moment,

but God loves me for eternity.

i will always love you,

you were never dead to me.

i thought about you from time to time,

but i realized i am not your falling branches.

i am the tree that stands still,

even when the wind is heavy

even when it storms.

i am the tree with strong roots.

i lean, but i do not fall.

without my roots,

i would be nothing.

you are my falling branch,

i lean because you expect me

to hold your weight.

not anymore,

i am the tree with strong roots.

i am not your falling branches.

i don’t live to survive,

i hold on so i can LIVE,

but not just for the moment.
