You Made Me X

You hurt me, you abused me
Yet you made me stronger.
I hid from you, I wanted to die because of you
Yet you made me bolder.
I used to laugh with you, now I cry because of you
Yet you made my skin thicker.

You caused my bruises, almost killed me twice
And any time I think of you, I shudder.
You touched me in all the wrong ways, called yourself my father
Yet you made me a fighter.

I now call you a monster
Yet in some sick, twisted way
You're my mentor.

You made me stronger,
You made me bolder,
You made my skin thicker,
You made me a fighter,
And yet, I'll never thank you for being my mentor.
