You make it work

The words just never quite fit correctly,

the notes never strung the right song,

the story never made sense.

You showed up and now it works.

Everything works.

You are a fresh cup of coffee on a Sunday morning,

a hot shower after a long day,

the song that makes my heat smile,

a sunset on the beach,

cuddling under the stars,

and everything inbetween.

I think I had the pieces, just not the right ones.

You've come along and now I don't even remember what it was like

not having you by my side.
