You before Me

Because I love you I have learned to see past the horror

The horror that ignites my heart with love and kills my mind.

I toss and turn to find comfort.

Next, to you, I spread my arm across

a tug, a nudge, but I love you.

The man that lays next to me every night is

the devil in flesh, but he is my devil.

A knot in my throat when his presence is gone.

Because I love you, I have lost myself to capture you.

Could it be that I am delusional?

Could it be the hits to the back that worries me?

Because I love him, there is no me.
