To you, my friend and my enemy

To you, my friend and my enemy,

I grew with you and fell too.

I've shed both tears of joy

And of despair because of you.

I have celebrate and moped,

But most of all,

I’ve been proud to know you.

You’ve taught me pain, determination, toughness,

But greater than those, mindfulness.

Without it, I wouldn’t know the other three,

They be an unachievable goal.

Nothing has broken me as much as you,

But nothing has built me up more.

I take up your challenge,

One man against one man.

You aren’t just a sport,

Because even when i'm away from you,

I hold the same discipline you taught me,

And carry it through the rest of my life.

When I lost your student,

But my teacher,

It was only the toughness

That helped me through.

After that night you'll never be the same to me.

No longer full of joyous memories,

You’ve become bittersweet.

The final connection I have to him,

My coach and my mentor,

Is through you.

Wrestling,

I love you and I hate you,

But I will always remain

Faithful to your discipline

Yours truly,

The homeless boy you gave a home,

The lonely boy you gave a family,

The meek boy you gave pride,

The man you gave a heart.
