You Need Strong Wings

I guess

Maybe you wanted us

To cry.

Well, we're crying now,

Is that what you wanted?

Can you even see?

Are you even watching?

And if so,

From where?

I could change the rules.

I could bend the rules

And break the rules

And save your soul

In my mind.

But what happens in my head

Hardly reflects on Earth

Or Heaven

Or Hell.

So I guess you're all alone now.

Is that what you wanted?

Or is that how it was,

How it always was,

Is

And forever shall be?

When we heard

I hope we each

Started praying.

God, I hope we

Started praying.

For maybe our

Words

Will turn to

Wings,

With feathers of tears

Strong enough to carry you

To Heaven.
