You Needed Me

To My Darling Destruction,
what made you want to hurt  me?
was it the way I walked-proud and with a sense of self worth?Or maybe the way my hips sway without a care?
was it my kindness of heart and softness of words?

did you think i would go down easy?

did you assume my kind and feminine ways would ensure my failure to struggle? did you think i would lose? that no matter how i fight i would fall?

did you think me weak?

did you seek me out?look for me the crowds, follow my every move?

or did you hurt me because i am strong? because i would kick and shout and  fight? because without my strength it wouldn't have been worth it?

did you hurt me because i will never need you?
