You, but Never I

Sat, 10/20/2018 - 20:21 -- Aiyjah

The question is...

When did you start caring?

You never once took action to make sure I was okay

You never once asked me how was my day

You never once told me it was going to be okay

You never once!

You stood by as I cried,

You stood by as I tore myself to pieces,

You stood by as I wrecked the world of it's only foundation!

You stood by!

I ran my whole life

Wondering why.

Why did you forget about me?

Why did you choose him over me?

Why, mom, why?

I listened to all your stories,

I listened to all the terrible words you said to me,

I listened when you let him say those things about me!

I listened.

broke.

died.

Yet, you wondered why I had yelled

I hate you!

You wondered why I had refused to say

I love you!

Now, I'm here.

Doing my own,

Being my own.

Engaged to someone I love.

So, you know what?

Fuck you, Mother.
