You never know what you have until it is gone

You go through life always complaining on the smallest things like how you did not get what you wanted for your birthday, or you go to a friends house and observe their parents and wish you had parents like theirs. What you do not realize is you cannot get everything you want in this world. Things do not always happen like they are planned. I am 17 and lost my dad in the worst way you could ever imagine he died of lung cancer. It was the worst way to lose someone I loved. I always remembered going to  my friends house and seeing how she was treated by her dad. I would go home and wish and pray that the dad that I had should have never existed. I look back now and realize that now that he is gone life is so hard for me. Not having that strong man in my life is really hard on me as a person. I never really knew what I had right in front of me until he was gone. Every night I lay in my room and cry wishing my dad was here to give me the relationship advice that I need .He is not here anymore he can’t tell me I am doing something wrong or encourage me that I am doing something right. Do not take things for granted you have only one set of parents love them, cherish them, and respect them. Time is limited you cannot turn back time and reverse things.
