You Only Write Once - That's What Matters to Me

To let them think that the future was in your hands, a tragedy.

Hurting him was what you fed off of, your energy grew stronger, the power.

And to think you let him get away, well here's a little story.

Telling him that those blue eyes would lead him in the right direction was wrong.

'Cause they did, for he found himself, resurrected from the ashes.

So looking back, as it was bully upon bully, who really won?

Well tell me, are you justified now, are you?

How does it feel? Knowing that you just wrote about the poverty.

At a glance, you were a hero, but it was just a poem, those were just words.

That lie that they would never hurt you, it's painful to watch.

Making yourself proud, by finally putting yourself out there.

At what moment did you realize, slamming down go you nowhere?

Tell him how horrible he is, you remember? No one would love him.

Tell them how horrible poverty is and you'll give your life to stop it, you won't.

Ending the pain never crossed your mind, there was no pain for you.

Remember, you'll preach about your cause like it matters to you, but it doesn't.

So when will you end the suffering? he wonders as the story continued.

Talk them one day about the animal abuse, or the disaster relief, you fight.

Oh the sad day, you never realized the pain that you caused him though.

Moments still pass to this day where he stays up till 3 in the morning wondering.

Everything doesn't matter, but that's matters to me.
