You Save Me From Myself
Sometimes you ask me why I care
sometimes you question why I dare
to love you and persist
why I keep standing by and never cease and desist
And I, I have to insist...
that you let me in,
don’t let the enemy win
don’t let yourself be absorbed in this darkness
believe me, i promise you, my love is harmless
And I know you’re wondering why
I want to love you like this
it seems reinless, reckless
the irrationality seems endless
but we got to end this
you’ve got to trust me
there’s hope for you still
to not drown and forget this
well this is love
this is healing
this helps us keep breathing
i know you see i’m broken
so you feel like you should leave your troubles unspoken
but i tell you that in loving you
within me it’s joy, not despair, that’s awoken
Truly at times it feels like my heart is exploding in my chest
and i can’t take the weight of my distress
but don’t be afraid to let me in and invest
cuz it’s love like this one that save people from death
death of the heart, that leaves them jaded
from an absence of love, and full of self-hatred
don’t let me go there i’ve seen it’s walls
please, i beg you, don’t let me walk those halls
sometimes it’s hard, shit,
sometimes I feel like i can’t make it
and, joy, well i try to fake it
but on the inside i’m achin
and i know there’s only one way out
and there’s only one way to shatter the doubt
it’s steppin into the brokenness of hearts that are fadin’
and letting them know that there is hope if they’ll wait an’
loving them all I can, so His love they might understand
this is love,
this is healing,
this helps us keep breathing
you see, true recklessness in love...
it releases chains,
walls come down more and more,
and hope and healing stand at the door
and you, you’ve saved me from myself.
in your troubles,
have no doubt that i am here
when you hate yourself and it feels like despair is drawing near...
and when the weight of the world brings you to tears
let me love you
this is love
this is healing
this helps us keep breathing
i love you
and always will.
