You Saved Me
Drawn to me, you claw your way inside and inject
A poison, your poison, that worms its way into my blood stream, instilling visions,
Nightmares of sweet affections. Send me
Into cardiac arrest, file a warrant for my soul, and as you succeed,
Every fiber gives in, helpless, shackled to the core. But each one begs you to stay, to
Linger, linger and fill me with dangerous and raw emotion.
Killing me with your soft words, heartbeat
Racing, a faint trail of sweat down my cheek, unseen
As you lean on my shoulder, mention once again those tender feelings, induce me into an
Unguarded state. Hopeless vulnerability stains my marrow, finding warmth and
Solace within your gentle embrace and honest
Eyes. Once before, there were toxins corroding me, but,
I felt your own brand of venom invade. An invasion, called
Love. I welcomed this since the beginning of time, and it overpowered my own fire.
You saved me, from my own poison.
