YOU SEE
You See,
The first day that I was born and I open my eyes
I would have never image everything that I was going to have to face
I lacked the knowledge of what love really was
I could never really tell you the real definition of love
You See, I only knew Pain
I Grew up with a mother that loved her drugs more than her own children
Growing up in a world where love was cruel
I learned that I was going to fight for everything I wanted in life.
You See,
The things that I had been battling had me face to face with DEATH himself
The day I got molested and I was told I was carrying a child from my rapist
I knew silence was no longer an option
You See,
I was now a solider about to enter a very special war
I was about to begin the fight of my life
I was at war with myself and the demons that was trying to control my life
You See,
I was fighting for every person that told me I would be nothing
My fight was for everyone that believe that I was going be like my mother
You See,
My fight was for every statistic that was hanging over my life
I was ready and strapped for survival of my life
I have lost many battles in this war but I was determined to win the end of the war.
You See
I am standing here today as a college student that was never supposed to graduate from
high school
I am able to love people like I never been hurt.
I can say that I survived the foster care system that statistically had me repeating
my past in my future
You See,
You have to be willing to fight a war that sometimes you may see no victory at the end
When you began this war you learn, what you been through doesn't matter
What you came from doesn't matter
You See,
You write your own book
You Seen, You heard, You listen
I lost many battles but at the end I WON the WAR..
