You tell me!

The one thing I need…

Other than myself?

Do I need more than myself?

People always say you only need yourself, do they mean it?

Do I even believe it?

I know I need air to breathe, water and food to live,

But I’m sure that’s not what you mean when you ask.

What is it you mean?

You tell me I need something, but I don’t think I do.

I don’t need a book, I can write my own

I don’t need a man, I can entertain myself

I don’t need clothes or makeup, or other luxuries in life.

These are the things I don’t need, but what I do need?

I need my life!

I need what I have become.

I need to know I matter.

I need to know that I will make this world a better place.

Or is it that I simply need attention?

I need to know I didn’t overthink this question.

Or do I need to overthink these things to continue to grow and become who I will be?

Needs always been looked down on in my life.

“No you don’t need that, and we can’t afford it anyway.”

But at the same time each need was met.

So what do I need?
