You Think I Am...
You think I am…
Just another 18 year old girl,
Going through life quickly and just letting it pass me by,
Waiting for great moments to come along as I slowly mature and become a woman.
This may be true in some cases,
But really I live in the moment, trying to absorb as much of it as I can.
I enjoy being able to remember things from my past,
Important or unimportant, doesn’t matter.
I also get a kick out of the astonishment of others remembering what I do.
I cherish the moments I get with my friends and family.
I have one older sister named Taylor,
And though we may fight she inspires me to try harder in life.
I have one younger sister named Claire who I hope to inspire with my actions as Taylor does mine.
My parents are divorced, my mom happily remarried and my dad happily dating.
Although there is the split in the family, that doesn’t stop the love I have for both sides,
Both being equally amazing and unique.
You think I am…
Just another student,
Trying to get through the day,
Trying to get on to “more important” things.
But really I enjoy the new things that whirl throughout my head, all that newfound information.
I’m a dreamer:
Graceful as the bird is graceful,
Graceful like the song in my heart.
I’ve been in love:
Thinking of who is in thought,
Imagining life ahead without them.
I’ve been a performer:
Acting out life as a wondrous fantasy,
Singing songs of life itself.
I am a dreamer:
Graceful as the bird is graceful,
Graceful like the song in my heart.
You think I am…
Just another kid with a crazy dream,
Becoming ecstatic of where this crazy dream can take me in life,
But then letting it fade as if it were no dream at all.
But really my dreams will become my reality.
There’s no feeling like the feeling where you watch something of yours come to be,
Seeing the transition from seeing it with you mind to seeing it with your eyes.
It may seem that, just like anyone else, I am just saying I will follow my dream.
It may be true,
But I like to believe that I am gradually moving towards what will become my life.
And no one can tell me otherwise.
You may think I am…
Just another 18 year old girl.
But really you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover,
Learn what it’s truly about.
