You Think That I'm Not There

You think that I'm not there, every night that you cry. You think that I'm not there, that I'm full of selfish pride. I watch you every night, and protect you though the day, And yet you continue to misuse my name. You talk to me at night, and every morning when you wake. For some odd reason, you thought this would be cake. You ask me why things happen, the way that they do. You ask me to please, make it easier on you. You try so hard, to make them understand, But you keep forgetting, they have the mind of man. You listen to my teachings, as they're spoken loud and clear. Only to close your heart, and tightly shut your ears. You ask me for some answers, but then you will not listen. You close your mind and your heart, Only for those tears to glisten. You ask my why, everything is so hard, You just want to understand. Why they walk away from you, and will not take my hand. You think that I'm not there, every night that you cry. Just open up your heart and mind, and let me tell you why.
