You Touched My Soul
Last night we were laughing, dancing and having a blast.
This could have gone on forever because who was keeping time.
All night? Maybe into the early hours, when the dew falls on the trees.
The smell of fresh air and the wind blowing through my hair.
I felt loved, blessed and lost in your eyes when you looked at me from across the room.
I smiled, you smiled back with joy.
You made me feel welcome, happy and full of hope.
Hours have past and the reality of life is knocking on our door.
Time to get up, start chores and restart the week again.
Reality comes to us we don't know how to deal with it or send it away.
It turns us against each other and it runs the other way.
Now we are fighting and saying things we may or may not regret.
Talking separation and how much time we could have left.
It has only been a few hours since we had a blast and danced into the night.
We thought we had forever to hold but that all changed when you
You touched my soul but not in way I will remember, but in a way
I will never forget due to all the mean and ugly words that spilled from our lips.
This unfortunately has created a gap in our existence as husband and wife.
