You Were Once

You were once the day to my night, The happy to my sad, The peanut butter to my jelly, The hot to my cold, The right to my wrong, The left to my right, The pen to my paper, The words in my book, The pictures in my magazine, The blood in my body, The tears falling down my cheeks, The shoes on my feet, The chains holding me back, The love in my heart, The blanket that kept me warm, The shelter to shield me from harm, The clothes on my back, The smile on my face, The everything to my nothing. My world.
