You Will Be Heard

Dear Animals of the World,

You aren't heard,

your cries of sadness, pain.

The dictators of your life

choosing to ignore what is right in front of them.

I am hearing you,

I hear your suffering.

And I am here beside you,

to be the voice that needs to be put out into existence.

To the cows,

I am here to tell everyone that your child,

needs you, and you need them.

They must not be taken from you for our own desires.

To the pigs,

I am here to tell everyone that intelligence,

is not just present in cats or dogs, but you as well.

Even if it wasn't, you still had the right to life.

To the chickens,

I am here to tell everyone that you are not machines

and that your body can't do what they ask of you,

your broken bones hurt like anyone else's does.

To my dear sea creatures,

I am here to tell everyone that we shouldn't pollute

and proceed to remove you from your home.

The oceans suffer at our hands.

To all of my other earthlings,

you are not my fashion, you are not my entertainment,

and you are not here for my use. I will tell everyone

that the Earth and your homes are dying.

To all of my dear friends whose voices are ignored,

I have the duty to act for your welfare and lives.

Do not think that you will be ignored for much longer...

Because you will be heard. I will make sure of it.

With all my love,

Lilli Andujar
