You Will Be a Man
You Will Be a Man
You will be a man
You will be a man whether you like it or not.
You will use your hands to achieve greatness, this world will give you a shot.
Born to be great, hair the color of sand.
Whether you like it or not, you will be a man.
Your father is tall and strong, your grandfathers are too.
Every day I look into your eyes, I see a bit of them in you.
Your teeth can tear through metal and your lips are determined to talk.
Your fingers' grasp is powerful and your legs are determined to walk.
When you fall and cry, you get up to try again.
I watch your struggle and bandage your pain.
Because they are not, you will be.
Five to ten years and eventually the world will also see.
They will see what I see in you and like me become your number one fan.
No matter if it kills me, you will not be a statistic..
You will be a man.
Dedicated to my son Chance Anthony Anderson
