You'd Be So Proud
Wish you could see me now, you'd be so proud,
No longer that scared shy girl, but confident and loud.
Tragic how you missed out on so much,
I've grown up a bunch.
Now a woman, Independant and strong,
Things you taught me, now sunken in, it took so long.
Always told I act, walk, and talk like you,
Shocks me how much this is true.
I have your eyes, the gateway to my soul,
So bright and lively, they're no longer dull.
Despite my new found strength, I miss you,
At times I still cry, and get so blue.
It's hard trying to hide the pain of your loss,
Dreaming of you still makes me turn and toss.
Not a day goes by I don't talk or think of you,
You had the most love for me, the most true.
Always the most beautiful woman in my eyes,
Was it fair my whole world gets taken, she dies?
Nothing in life is fair, you take the good with the bad,
I survived, just like we always had.
You taught me to think this way,
Do your best, work hard, in the end it'll all pay.
No longer that scared shy girl, but confident and loud,
Wish you could see me now, you'd be so proud!
